How was the Great Pyramid built?

There are no end to theories about how the Pyramid was built. A recent theory claimed that kites powered by strong winds was the motive force, others have insisted the Giant Monument was built by gods from outer space since it seems so unlikely that ancient men with such limited technology could have constructed it.

Another theory is that the stones of the pyramid are made from concrete which was poured in place at Giza. That ramp theory is the one most commonly put forward in attempts to explain the building of the Pyramid. Artist conceptions of this always make it look likely and plausible, as in the diagram to the right.  A single ramp would have used as much rubble as there is stone in the Pyramid itself.  It would have had to be constantly added to to get stones to the various heights.  There is no evidence around the Pyramids of the huge volume of stone fragments that would have been left at the final dismantling of the Pyramid.

The various circling ramp theories mostly defy gravity as the upper drawing shows. Not much serious attention has been given to this theory beyond artist's conception.  This is not how the pyramids were built.

Researcher Ron Wyatt found a hieroglyphic symbol (pictured on the right, lower) that was always placed near accounts of the Pyramid. The character depicts a wooden, scissors-like tool which Wyatt came to realize was a drawing of the wooden levers which were used to lift the heavy stones up the pyramids. Wyatt built several lift machines with 2 by 4s using this design and was able to lift his automobile high into the air with the help of his sons.

Herodotus, writing about his interviews with Egyptian priests, says the heavy pyramid stones were put in place using wooden "contrivances." It seems that Wyatt found the key to the Pyramid's construction!
